Magnetostrictive linear displacement sensor

Product introduction

1. Principle:

The linear displacement sensor (magnetostrictive principle) is also commonly known as the “magnetic ruler” in our automation industry. It accurately measures the position through a strain pulse signal generated by the intersection of two different magnetic fields. The specific measurement unit is a waveguide, and the sensitive components in the waveguide are made of special magnetostrictive materials. The measurement process is that a current pulse is generated in the electronic chamber of the sensor, and the current pulse is transmitted in the waveguide, thereby generating a circular magnetic field outside the waveguide. When the magnetic field intersects the magnetic field generated by the movable magnetic ring sheathed on the waveguide as a position change At this time, due to the action of magnetostriction, a strained mechanical wave pulse signal is generated in the waveguide. This strained mechanical wave pulse signal is transmitted at a fixed sound speed and can be quickly detected by the electronic warehouse. Since the transmission time of the strain mechanical wave pulse signal in the waveguide is proportional to the distance between the active magnetic ring and the electronic warehouse, this distance can be determined with high accuracy by measuring the time. Since the basic output signal is a true absolute value, rather than a proportional or amplified signal, there is no signal drift or change in value, and there is no need for regular recalibration.

2. Installation form:

Linear displacement sensors are divided into built-in type and external type, but their principles are actually the same, but each installation method is different, so you must choose according to your own installation environment when choosing a product.

2.1 External

2.2 Built-in

3. Signal output form:

The electrical output form of linear displacement sensor is usually: analog current/voltage signal; SSI synchronous serial digital signal; multiple bus communication protocol signal; start/stop pulse signal.

3.1 Introduction to communication protocol output

The synchronous serial interface is a standardized interface developed by Max Stegman GmbH, Absolute position signal can be transmitted. The advantage of this transmission method is that it can be Control the time of recording location and data transmission speed to ensure safe data transmission.
